MED TRUST GmbH is a subsidiary of the Austrian medical products manufacturer MED TRUST Handelsges.m.b.H. and successfully distributes the products of the brands “Wellion” and “WellionVet” in Germany.
Initial situation
Over the past 20 years, MED TRUST GmbH has established itself on the German market as a competent and reliable supplier of quality health products, with a special focus on diabetes. Until now, if a customer/retailer wanted to order Wellion products from MED TRUST, he manually filled out an order form and sent it to MED TRUST GmbH by e-mail attachment or fax. MED TRUST then manually entered the respective data into its ERP system to trigger the order. This was no longer sustainable. The process cost a lot of time and money and was prone to errors. Therefore, MED TRUST commissioned the TRANSCONNECT® team.

Solution
The integration server enables the two business partners (sales and buyer) to exchange data and documents via a secure electronic data interchange (EDI) in a structured way and according to specific standards. For this purpose, TRANSCONNECT® was seamlessly integrated into the IT landscape at MED TRUST as a central point and the corresponding interfaces were provided. Via these, billing data, order data, delivery data and master data are collected, standardised and aggregated in TRANSCONNECT® and exchanged between senders and recipients using standardised XML data structures. The standardised formats for the respective documents are defined in TRANSCONNECT®. If the trader wants to place an order today, the necessary data is automatically provided in advance in his portal. If he sends this to MED TRUST, the file is processed in TRANSCONNECT®, the data is read out and transferred to the standard. The customer’s order is then imported into the target system as an order. The authorised employees receive an e-mail via an ID informing them that new orders have been received in the portal. The order confirmation is triggered by the employee. The integration project with TRANSCONNECT® was realised in six weeks with one IT specialist at MED TRUST GmbH and two developers in the SQL project team. The automated ordering and order process makes work much easier for the employees. Data and documents are exchanged securely and without errors. The transmission time has been reduced. Repetitions are no longer necessary. And a lot of paper is saved. Since the data information is more accurate, follow-up processes to logistics can also be generated more easily.
